Thanks for the soft love, sistah. This is the slow-down season to look back, lay down, and recoup the body so that we bloom fully in spring. Good looking out.

You are so welcome. I always figure if one of us is struggling with something, there have to be others. Many of us are just used to pushing through and not listening to the wisdom of our bodies. I didn't listen at first until I started to feel really bad. Thank you for reading and supporting.

Oh, you're so welcome. If one of us is struggling with something like low vitamin D levels, I'm sure others are too. Thank you for being here and supporting my writing. I hope you have an amazing Sunday too!

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is real and so is Vitamin D deficiency. ♥️ light therapy! I would also remind ourselves that the hormones have ebb and flows especially during major life events, such as, having a baby, entering in or out of menopause, divorce, or family blending via a remarriage, for example. I ♥️the Biblical references in your post. 🫶🏾 Glad you took care of you!

Wow Tecca! This post has me hooked and locked in to your Substack !!!! All it took was one note you posted and I’m on binge read . Your words are like the warm hug from a friend , sister you haven’t seen in years … it stays with you long after the person leaves ! I can’t wait to read more and just indulge in how I can bring more softness and rest into my life .

I have always had to be on , doing something , or taking care of everyone but me … now it’s my time to focus on me !!

Thank you so much for this. I really appreciate you sharing your reflection.

I always hope that when someone reads my work or comes to an offering, it feels like we’re just sitting on the couch together, having an easy conversation.

Thank you for being here. It means a lot to me..

Love you 💙 I remember the heaviness you shared and held around the job to had. Your body informing you and carrying you as much as it could until you listened. So hope this heaviness , aches and exhaustion eases more and more as you rest and listen and let that be the gift of the season to yourself 🎁

Hugs of healing as you reach out here and continue to inform us with so much love , wisdom and compassion. You aren’t alone. We are here learning to rest too 🫂❤️‍🩹🫂

Awww, don't make me cry over here. Thank you for your love and support. I'm going to take it all in, thank you.

I did my TEDx in October. It takes about 3 months to be approved by the TEDx organization. I can't wait to share it with everyone. It talks about my job and how I learned to rest inside the Belly of the Beast. Stay connected!

Whew. This is SO important. My naturopath just flagged my Vitamin D recently as well, (and my skin is very low melanin of course, being white) and that was from test we ran at the end of August when I was deeply sun kissed, so she was like, “you DEFINITELY better be taking it now!!” It helped a lot that she told me a really safe and healthy dose to aim for is 3000mg/day, but you can do more one day and forget the next day because it’s fat soluble (which sure helps with the ADD lol) …and apparently (as you’re saying) we can take more when we know we’re coming back from depletion. I also learned that it big time affects our HORMONES!!! So critical for all, but especially women since our hormones are already …well, you know. So so affirming also to hear of the flow & abundance while you’re RESTING!!! I needed to hear this and be reminded. It is a deep & radical practice, this resting stuff. Thank you deeply, you’re always teaching me. 🙏🏼✨🐌💛

Well, I am also just learning how vitamin D supports all the main players in women's health in a big way. I may do some research and write on that because I instantly felt a difference in my body by noticing how my progesterone meds responded the first night I started back on vitamin D. Lack of vitamin D disrupts sleep patterns; you know progesterone helps to regulate sleep. When I took my first dose of Vitamin D, I could feel the progesterone working again. I slept so well—CRAZY!!!!

Oh wow, that’s amazing!!! And it makes me think also how sometimes we might think we need hormone replacement therapy- or a higher dose of it when what we actually need is vitamin D!! I also take progesterone and I think I’m needing less of it since adding the D also. Amazing. Thanks for sharing that experience as it really informs mine! 💛✨🐌
